Box Score Glassboro, NJ: The Ramapo College women's lacrosse team fell short, 20-3 in a New Jersey Athletic Conference match-up on the road Saturday afternoon to Rowan. With the loss the Roadrunners fall to 4-7 overall and 1-3 in the conference.
Sophomore attack
Lindsay Hughes scored twice for Ramapo and
Katie Duca had one goal but it wasn't enough as the Profs defeated the Roadrunners to improve to 10-4 overall and 3-2 in the conference. Rowan goalie Lindsay Barrie recorded four saves, while Ramapo goalkeeper Reagan Vler had 23 saves. The Profs totaled 54 shots and 31 ground balls, and the Roadrunners wrapped up the day with eight shots, while collecting 19 ground balls.
Rowan got on the scoreboard at the 2:02 mark, and Duca tied the game with 26:08 on the clock. The Profs took control and scored the next four goals for a 5-1 lead with 6:38 to play in the half, before Hughes cut the deficit to 5-2 at 7:29. Rowan then recorded seven consecutive goals for a 12-2 advantage (14:10). Hughes hit the back net at 22:25, but the Profs produced the final three goals of the half for a 15-3 lead at the break.
Rowan scored five goals in the final half to come away with the 20-3 victory.
Ramapo returns to action when they take on Kean on April 22nd at 4pm on the road.
