RAMAPO TAKES DOWN #5 RIVIER IN FIVE, SWEEPS DANIEL WEBSTER

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 | Box Score 3 Beverly, MA:  The Ramapo College men's volleyball team dropped #5 Rivier College in a thrilling five-set match today, before earning a 3-0 sweep over Daniel Webster, on day two of the Endicott Tournament.  With the two victories, the Roadrunners improve to 15-4 overall.

Rookie Ahjon Petty put away a team leading 22 kills in the team's 3-2 (16-25, 25-17, 20-25, 25-23, 15-13) win over the #5 ranked Raiders of Rivier College.  Petty picked up five digs and collected one service ace in the win.  Senior Nick Hrehovcik posted 17 kills on 32 attempts with four errors, hitting .406, as the team went 60-144 with 21 errors, hitting a combined .271.  Brian Colabella and Mike Kane added seven and six kills respectively to the win.

Senior setter Andrew Balint dished out 48 assists and rookie Kurt MacDonald led the team's defense with 17 digs.  Hrehovcik picked up 13 and Colabella added 11 on the day.  Kane and Colabella led the team with seven and three blocks respectively, Kane collected three solo.

Against Daniel Webster, Petty once again led the team with nine kills, hitting .571, as Ramapo swept Daniel Webster, 3-0 (25-20, 25-17, 25-22).  Rookie Ryan Casci collected seven kills and Connor Brandow and Nick Amos each added five to the win.  The team hit a combined .282 with 35 kills on 85 attempts and 11 errors.

Balint dished out 23 assists and rookie Alec Weissman added 12, while MacDonald once again led the defense with nine digs. 

For his efforts on the court, Petty was named to the All-Tournament team.

Ramapo returns to action on Saturday, March 15th at 10am when they take on Baruch College at the Carthage Tournament in Kenosha, WI.
