Micaela Moore led the Ramapo College women's basketball team to a 76-72 road victory over the Profs of Rowan University. The Roadrunners now stand at 11-11 overall, 8-7 in the New Jersey Athletic Conference while the Profs fall to 6-15 overall , 5-10 in the conference.
With seven seconds left to play in the game and the Roadrunners up two, 74-72, Moore blocked a shot from the Profs and junior
Jackie Jerkovich grabbed the loose and was fouled sending her to the line with just three seconds on the clock. Jerkovich sank her two free throws to seal the win for Ramapo, 76-72.
Moore finished the game with her tenth double-double of the year as she scored 17 points and grabbed 11 rebounds. Moore also recorded five blocks in the game. Jerkovich led the team with 19 points, including four baskets from beyond the arc. Junior

Bintou Berete each scored eight points. Ramapo shot 47% (30-63) from the field, 42% (6-14) from beyond the three point line and 76% (10-13) from the free throw line. Ramapo held a slight advantage in rebounds, 45-39.
The Roadrunners got on the board first in the game with a bucket from Moore before Rowan took a three point lead, 5-2, on a three pointer from Bria Hill with 18:15 on the clock. Haspel and Berete scored back to back baskets for Ramapo, taking a one point lead, 6-5, before Rowan went on a mini 5-0 run to take a four point lead (15:50), 10-6.
Jerkovich and Haspel connected on back-to-back three pointers before Jerkovich capped off the 8-0 run with a layup to take a six point lead, 20-14, with 10:17 left to go in the half. Rowan tied the game at 23 on a jumper from Kate Matthews (8:10) before Kaitlin Schullstrom put the Profs in the lead, 26-23, with a three point goal of her own at 7:39 before senior
Anna Fucci connected on a jumper and Haspel hit a shot from beyond the arc as the Roadrunners regained a four point lead, 30-26 with 6:50 to go in the half. Ramapo went on a 13-3 run, capped off by a basket (3:04) from Moore to go up eight, 41-31. Rowan shrunk the Ramapo lead to five with just under a minute to play on a free throw from Megan Russ before Moore completed an and one play, 46-38, for the final points of the half. Ramapo went into the locker room up eight.
To start the second half, Rowan went on a 9-2 run to close the gap to one, 47-48, on a layup from Schullstrom (17:22). Berete scored a basket and Jerkovich hit a three from beyond the arc to extend the Roadrunner lead to six, 53-47, with 14:48 on the clock. Kellie Lane scored a layup for Ramapo, which started a 9-0 run, 62-56 (10:14). Rowan tied the game for the fifth time on a three pointer from Schullstrom before Donadio complted an and one play for the Roadrunners to take a three point lead with 6:16 on the clock, 67-64. After a jumper from Moore, Schullstrom came down the court and nailed a three pointer for the Profs to tie the game at 69 with 4:12 to play. Schullstrom scored another three pointer (3:02) to take a two point lead, 72-70, before Moore came down and hit a jumper for the Roadrunners to tie the game at 72. Ramapo sank two big free throws from Fucci, taking a two point lead, 74-72, with 1:12 on the clock before Moore came up big with her block with seven ticks left in the game.
For Rowan, Schullstrom led the Profs with 19 points, including five three pointers along with nine rebounds and four assists. Jade Bonder tallied 16 points while Matthews added ten points of her own. Rowan shot 38% (29-76) from the floor, 37% (9-24) from beyond the three point line and 62% (5-8) from the free throw line.
Ramapo will return to action on Wednesday, February 12th when they host Rutgers-Newark University at 5:30pm. The Roadrunners ask you wear pink to the game in support of the Kay Yow Cancer Fund Game.
