MOORE NETS DOUBLE-DOUBLE IN LOSS TO TCNJ

Box Score Ewing, NJ:  The Ramapo College women's basketball team came up short against NJAC rival The College of New Jersey today at Packer Hall, 65-61. The Roadrunners fall to 4-6 overall and 2-3 in the NJAC while the Lions improve to 8-2 overall and 5-0 in the conference.

For the Roadrunners senior Micaela Moore led the team with 16 points and 11 rebounds for her fourth double-double of the season. She also contributed with four blocks and four steals. Senior Alayna Donadio tallied 12 points while junior Kelly Haspel added ten points and four assists. Junior Jackie Jerkovich contributed nine points while junior Kerrie Kosakowski tallied seven points of her own. Ramapo shot 36% (21-58) from the field and 80% (16-20) from the charity stripe. The Roadrunners held a slight advantage in rebounds in the game 45-43 while they forced 17 TCNJ turnovers which led to 16 points for Ramapo.

Tiffany DeTulio led the Lions with 20 points as she made four three-pointers and grabbed seven rebounds. Angelica Esposito added 11 points while Kelly Roddy tallied nine points of her own. The Lions shot 30% (20-65) from the field, 29% (8-27) from beyond the three point line and 73% (17-23) from the charity stripe. The Lions forced 18 Ramapo turnovers in the game which led to ten TCNJ points.

In the first half TCNJ led by as many as eight, 29-21 (4:24) before the Roadrunners closed the gap heading into the locker room only down two, 31-29. The Roadrunners would cut the lead to four on a Jerkovich three pointer (2:52), 27-31, before senior Anna Fucci scored the final basket of the half for either team as Ramapo was down two, 29-31.

In the second half TCNJ's lead was never more then four points and the game was tied five times, the final time coming at 2:24 on the clock.  Ramapo tied the game at 57 on a jumper from Donadio, she was assisted by Kosakowski. The two teams traded baskets before TCNJ went up by three, 62-59, with 27 seconds remaining on made foul shots from Kylie O'Donnell. Ramapo missed a three pointer before Haspel made two foul shots, cutting the TCNJ lead to one with 13 seconds left to play, 62-61. TCNJ would score the final three points of the game, all foul shots, as they came away with the 65-61 victory.

The Roadrunners return to action on Wednesday, January 8th when they travel to Rutgers-Newark University for a 6pm NJAC conference game.
