ROADRUNNERS FALL SHORT IN OT

Box Score Mahwah, NJ:  The Lions of the College of New Jersey captialized on a free kick in overtime to defeat the Ramapo College men's soccer team, 1-0 today in a New Jersey Athletic Conference season opener. 

Senior Dave Przybylo had one of the best opportunities in the game at 51:42 when he riffled the ball at the TCNJ net, but a deflection off the crossbar kept the game scoreless until the 90 minute buzzer, forcing overtime.

It was TCNJ that came out on top after Junior Kevin McCartney scored off a direct kick in the first overtime lifting the Lions over Ramapo.  WIth the only shot in the overtime period, McCartney led the Lions to their sixth win of the season to improve to 6-1-1 overall, 1-0 in the conference.  The Roadrunners fall to 3-3-1 overall and 0-1 in the conference.

Senior goalkeeper Steve Monaghan made one save in the game, while the Roadrunners held a slight 14-12 edge in shots.  TCNJ collected nine corner kicks in the match-up while the Roadrunners earned just one. 

Ramapo will take on New Jersey City University when they return to action on Wednesday, September 25th at 4pm in Jersey City.
