RAMAPO BLANKS MEDGAR EVERS

Box Score Mahwah, NJ:  It took just two minutes and twelve seconds for the Ramapo College men's soccer team to gain a 3-0 advantage over the Cougars of Medgar Evers College today, before finishing with a 5-0 victory to improve to 3-2-1 overall on the year.  Medgar Evers falls to 0-2.

Senior Dave Przybylo posted back-to-back goals at 1:41 and 1:57, before rookie Luke Giegerich netted his first collegiate goal, all within 2:12 of each other, to give the Roadrunners a 3-0 edge over the Cougars.  Rookie Joao Navarro gave the assist to Przybylo on his second goal and Dan Boffa contributed to the team's third goal of the game.  The three goal lead held until 33:36 when rookie Chris Ugarte took a pass from fellow rookie Lucas Tasci to jump ahead four goals to none.  At the halftime buzzer, Ramapo held the 4-0 lead with a shot advantage of 8-0.

The final goal of the game came at 57:05 with an unassisted goal from rookie Vlad Perozhak.  Ramapo held a 21-1 edge in shots in the final 45 minutes of play, while holding a 9-0 advantage in corners on the day.

The Roadrunners took 29 shots in the game and held Medgar Evers to just one, as Christopher Welsh was tested making ten saves in the full 90 minutes of play.  Senior netminder Steve Monaghan and rookie Brady O'Connor went untested splitting the goaltending duties for the Roadrunners.

Ramapo opens NJAC play on Saturday, September 21st when they host TCNJ at 1pm at the Athletic Center.
