Box Score Mahwah, NJ: The Ramapo College women's lacrosse team defeated the Scarlet Raptors, 16-15 today in a NJAC Conference match-up, to wrap up the 2013 season. Ramapo finished the year at 6-11 overall. Rutgers Camden finishes their season standing at 6-9.
Jessica Giampietro got Rutgers Camden on the board with an unassisted goal at 3:05, before Ramapo's
Lindsay Hughes knotted the game at one goal apiece, just over one minute later. Hughes struck again at 5:21 to put Ramapo ahead, 2-1, before Giampietro tied it up with 17 minutes to play in the half.
Amanda Ferry and Hughes put Ramapo ahead 4-2, but Giampietro and Samantha Gregg again gave the Scarlet Raptors the lead with three straight Rutgers Camden goals.
Michelle Gustafson tied it up at 5-5 at 21:48. Hughes scored two more in the half and Elizabeth LaBar and Alexa Giampietro got one each to head into the intermission tied at 7-7.
The second half went much of the same with the two teams trading goals. With the score tied at 14,
Taylor Jade Nicholas put the Roadrunners ahead, 15-14, and Hughes, 16-14, before a last minute effort to take control by LaBar, put the Scarlet Raptors within one with 1:25 to play.
Senior goalkeeper
Reagan Vier kept the net clear giving the Roadrunners the 16-15 win in Mahwah.
Hughes finished the game with 11 goals and Vier collected nine saves. Rutgers Camden held a 31-25 edge in shots.
