RAMAPO TAKES DOWN OLD WESTBURY, 19-4

Box Score Mahwah, NJ:  The Ramapo College women's lacrosse team played host to Skyline rival Old Westbury today at Athletic Center. The Roadrunners (2-7, 2-3 Skyline) defeated the Panthers (2-9, 1-6 Skyline), 19-4 for their second win of the season.

The Roadrunners came out on fire scoring the first six goals of the game, with rookie attack, Lindsay Hughes collecting four, her first just 18 seconds into the match-up.  Taylor Jade Nicholas added two of her own, giving the Roadrunners a 6-0 advantage at the 9:25 minute mark. Hughes assisted on both of Nicholas' goals.

Monika Santelli got the Panthers on the board at 9:34, scoring her second goal of the year, before Briana Vitulano added another goal for Ramapo to go up, 7-1, with under 18 to play in the half.  Ramapo went up, 9-1 before JoAnna Kettell scored one more for Old Westbury, to close the gap, 9-2. Amanda Ferry and Hughes added one goal a piece before the intermission, while Courtney Gallagher and Santelli each scored for Old Westbury at the close of the first half, cutting the Ramapo lead, 11-4.

Ramapo out shot the Panthers 13-11 in the half, while Reagan Vier collected five saves. 

The Roadrunners held Old Westbury scoreless in the second half of play.  It took just 1:23 for Hughes to strike at the start of the half, before Nicholas followed just nine seconds later, to put the Roadrunners ahead, 13-4.  Teresa Gustafson, Vitulano, Brianne Deptuch, Hughes, Alison Gall, and Nicholas, each hit the back of the net, scattered across the final 28:30 minutes of play, giving Ramapo the 19-4 victory in Mahwah.

Vier finished the half with an additional three saves, while Ramapo again out shot the Panthers, 11-6. 

Sara Braverman made one save in net for the Panthers.

The Roadrunners return to action on Saturday, April 6th, when they travel to Maritime for a 4pm match-up
