TEPEDINO LEADS RAMAPO OVER THE SAGE COLLEGES, 19-2

Mahwah, NJ: The Ramapo College women's lacrosse team earned a 19-2 victory today at the Athletic Center over the Gators from The Sage Colleges in a Skyline Conference match-up. With the victory Ramapo improves to 5-7 overall, 2-5 in the Skyline while Sage falls to 1-10 overall, 0-4 in the conference.

The Roadrunners got an early lead just 0:31 into the game with a goal from Adrianna Tepedino, she was assisted by Amanda Barretta, 1-0. Sage answered back eleven seconds later with a goal by Alexa Veeder to tie the game, 1-1. With 28:09 left to play Baretta got her first goal of the game assisted by Amanda Ferry and two seconds later Tepedino netted her second goal of the game for a 3-1 Ramapo edge.

Teresa Gustafson followed the back to back goals by posting one of her own off a free position shot followed by Barretta from Tepedino for a 5-1 lead. Ramapo went up 9-1 before Veeder posted her second goal of the game for the Gators with 11:04 left to play. The Roadrunners posted four more goals in the first half to take a 13-2 lead heading into halftime.

Ramapo held a 22-10 advantage in shots while rookie goaltender Regan Vier had five saves.

Ramapo jumped ahead 14-2 under two minutes into the second half with a goal by Tepedino. Tepedino then posted her seventh goal of the game with 23:14 left in the half to put Ramapo up, 15-2. Ramapo scattered four more goals over the final 20 minutes of play giving them the 19-2 victory.

Vier made one more save in the second half while goalie Sara Shahrabi also grabbed one for Sage. Ramapo again out shot the Gators 15-2.  Tepedino posted eight goals during the game with 11 shots.

Ramapo honored their six seniors in a pregame ceremony. Congratulations and good luck to #1 Colleen Steel, #3 Lindsey Jachens, #7 Amanda Barretta, #11 Adrianna Tepedino, #17 Alyssa Krall, and #23 Sam Thompson!

The Roadrunners return to action on the road Wednesday, April 18th against Mount St. Mary College at 4:00pm.
