Camden, NJ: The Ramapo College women's lacrosse team defeated NJAC rival Rutgers Camden University today, 11-9. The Roadrunners improve to 4-3 overall while the Scarlet Raptors fell to 3-4.
Ramapo led 8-5 at the half before Rutgers Camden made a come back with four second half goals.
Amanda Barretta and
Adrianna Tepedino each scored four goal for Ramapo while
Colleen Steel added two goals and
Teresa Gustafson posted one.
Gustafosn tied the game for Ramapo with an unassisted goal before Steel took a pass from
Amanda Ferry to take a 2-1 lead. With the scored tied at two, the Roadrunners scored four straight goals to take a 6-2 lead. Barretta scored three of her goals in the first half while she scored the eventual game winning goal in the second half, unassisted to take a 10-7 lead. Tepedino scored an insurance goal for the Roadrunners to go up 11-7 before the Scarlet Raptors tallied two more in the final twelve minutes of the game to come within two, 11-9.
Ramapo posted a 33-23 shot advantage in the game while they led in ground balls, 29-26 and draw controls, 17-3.
Ramapo returns to action when they host Skyline/NJAC rival Montclair State University on Wednesday at 4:00 PM.
