FLANNERY, MILNE LEAD RAMAPO OVER NJCU, 55-42

Box Score Jersey City, NJ:  The Ramapo College women's basketball team defeated NJAC North rival New Jersey City University on the road, 55-42. The Roadrunners improve to 14-7, 5-5 in the NJAC while the Gothic Knights now stand at 3-18, 0-10 in the conference.

The Roadrunners jumped out to a 6-0 lead with back to back three pointers by Jackie Jerkovich and Kelly Haspel before NJCU got on the board with a basket by Maxine Kaminski, 6-2 (18:02). Ramapo took a ten point lead, 16-6 (11:40) on two made foul shots by Micaela Moore before they went up 12 on a jumper by Faith Flannery, 20-8 (8:14). The Gothic Knights would cut the lead to nine twice in the next eight minutes (3:03 ) and with 46 seconds remaining; before Ramapo sank the final bucket of the half on a jumper by Moore off a dish from Alexa Ryan with 22 ticks on the clock.

Ramapo and NJCU traded baskets in the first three minutes of the second half before the Roadrunners went up 13, 31-18 on a jumper by Moore. The Gothic Knights cut the lead to five, 33-28 on a made basket by Kaminksi off a pass by Kerri Cassarello with 12:49 to go in the game. The Roadrunners went on a 7-3 run capped off by Flannery's made basket and foul shot, 40-31 (10:13) before they extended their lead to 12, 51-39 on a made foul shot by Ryan with 2:58 on the clock. NJCU hit a shot from behind the three point line by Gabrielle Rivera, 51-42 (1:23) before Ramapo scored the final four points of the game on foul shots by Jerkovich and Milne for the 55-42 win.

Flannery led the team with 11 points and a team high six rebounds, three steals and one block. Milne added 12 points and four rebounds while Moore added nine points, five rebounds and three steals. Ramapo shot 68% (13-19) from the foul line and recorded eight steals to NJCU's four.

The Roadrunners return to action when they host NJAC rival #8/9 William Paterson University on Saturday beginning at 1:00pm.
