MOORE, MILNE LEAD RAMAPO OVER SUFFOLK, 60-58

| Box Score 2 Mahwah, NJ:  Junior Micaela Moore was named tournament MVP as the Ramapo College women's basketball team came from behind to defeat Suffolk University, 60-58 today at the Bradley Center.

In the first half the game was tied at 6-6 before Suffolk took an eight point lead with 11 minutes left, 16-8.  The Roadrunners answered back with an eight point run to tie the game at 16 (9:16) with a three point basket from junior Anna Fucci.  The two teams then traded baskets until Suffolk took a 25-24 lead before closing out the half with five more points, 25-30.  Suffolk shot 48% from the field in the half and 80% from the foul line.  The Rams' Jennifer Ruys lead the team at the half with 12 points followed by Iliani Quadri who had nine points herself and one assist.  Ramapo shot 36% from the field and 43% from the foul line.  Roadrunner Micaela Moore led the team with 10 points and one assist.

Suffolk opened the second half extending their lead to nine points.  The two teams traded baskets until Ramapo's Kelly Haspel sank two baskets in a row closing the gap to 56-58 with 1:27 left to play.  Alex Milne then sank two baskets down the stretch, the first to tie the game with 33 seconds left and the second with four seconds remaining to take a two point lead, 60-58. Suffolk could not get a shot off in the final seconds of the game as Ramapo came away with the victory to remain undefeated.

Suffolk (1-1) shot 46% (25-55) from the field in the game and 80% (4-5) from the foul line. Suffolk's Jennifer Ruys tallied 16 points in the game and two assists.  Iliani Quadri and Jacqueline Vienneau tallied 13 points a piece and Vienneau picked up nine assists. The Roadrunners shot 38% (21-55) from the field and 59% (16-27) from the foul line.  Moore led the team with 15 points, ten rebounds and two assists while sophomore Alex Milne tallied 11 points. Sophomore Kelly Haspel tallied 12 points, two assists and two steals while senior Faith Flannery added nine points, one assist, one steal and one block. Sophomore Kerrie Kosakowski added seven points, five rebounds and dished out a team high six assists while Fucci contributed six points and four rebounds.

The Roadrunners return to action on the road Tuesday, November 20th at 6:00pm when they play at New Jersey City University.

In the consolation game, Mt. St. Vincent women's basketball team defeated Medgar Evers College, 85-7. Mt. St. Vincent (1-1) shot 42% (33-78) from the field in the game and 68% from the foul line.  Shannon Koch led the team with 13 points and two assists while Tanisha Montague tallied 12 points and three assists.  Desiree Rosa and Nicole Oliver each scored ten points while Kayla Giordano dished out four assists. 

Medgar Evers' (0-3) Essence Perry led the team with four points while Roneke Browne added two points.
