STOCKTON DOWNS RAMAPO, 3-0

Box Score Pomona, NJ: Richard Stockton (9-2, 3-0 NJAC) won their fifth consecutive match on Thursday night as they downed NJAC foe Ramapo (7-4, 2-1 NJAC) in straight sets, 25-10, 25-8, 25-21.

The victory also extended the Ospreys' streak of home wins to 13 and their streak of wins against NJAC opponents to 14 in a row. Stockton also stopped the Roadrunners' winning streak at six.

In the opening set, Christine Velott (Moorestown/Moorestown) knocked down four of her 11 kills to lead Stockton to the 25-10 win. In the second set, it was Nicole Serekian's (Mahwah/Mahwah) turn as she slammed five of her match-high 12 kills while Velott added four more.

In the third set, Serekian added five kills more to her total while Kasey Hennecke (Fair Lawn/Fair Lawn) chipped in with four of her eight kills as the Ospreys closed out the match 25-21. Michelle Ferrari (Marlton/Cherokee) kept Ramapo close in the final set with six kills.

Laura Hausman (Bethlehem, PA/ Catasauqua) led the Ospreys with 25 assists while teammate Mayan Alvarado (Gainesville, FL/P.K.Yonge)chipped in with 10 more helpers. Ashley Gubista (Massapequa, NY/Massapequa) continued her spectacular freshman season with 25 digs, with Velott adding 10 digs of her own. Tabitha Nejman (Runnemede/Our Lady of Mercy) led the Ospreys with five blocks.

For the Roadrunners, Ferrari led the way with nine kills and nine digs. Teammate Tiffany Fischer (Woodcliff Lake/Pascack Hills) tallied 15 assists and nine digs as well. Elizabeth Steck (Marlton/ Cherokee) added seven digs for the evening.

Stockton will travel to the NYU Tournament on Friday and Saturday. On Friday, they face Gettysburg at 4 pm and then follow up with a 6 pm match against Eastern. Ramapo returns home to face Mount St. Mary (NY) on Tuesday at 7 pm.
