TEPEDINO LEADS RAMAPO OVER MSV, 17-12

Mahwah, NJ: The Ramapo College women's lacrosse team hosted the Dolphins of Mount Saint Vincent College today posting a 17-12 victory. Ramapo improves to 4-3 overall, 2-1 in the Skyline while the Dolphins fall to 4-4 overall, 3-2 in the conference.

The Roadrunners got on the scoreboard first with back-to-back goals at 2:16 and 5:40 when Michelle Gustafson and Amanda Barretta hit the back of the net giving the Roadrunners a 2-0 lead. The Dolphins quickly responded with back-to-back goals at 6:55 and 8:29 by Julia Caro and Jessie Mitchell to tie the game, 2-2. The Roadrunners answered back when Adrianna Tepedino scored off a Free Position Shot at 11:53 to take the lead 3-2. The Dolphins came back to tie the game at 12:02 with a goal from Mitchell assisted by Nicole Flores. Ramapo tallied six consecutive goals, two from Tepedino at 13:56 and 25:45, three from Barretta 14:24, 17:16, and 17:38, and one from Gustafson at 21:11 to close take a 9-3 advantage. Ramapo rounded out the half with a final goal from Jenna Pfarr and the Dolphins put three more on the board from Erin Woerner (2) and Kristen LeGeyt to close the gap, 10-6 at the halftime horn.

The Roadrunners out shot the Dolphins, by a slim 19-17 in the first half of play while Diana Silva made four saves for the team. Michelle Miller blocked five shots in the half for the Dolphins.

Ramapo continued to control the game holding their lead the entire second half with goals from Colleen Steel, Pfarr, Barretta (2), and Tepedino (3). Barretta posted what turned out to be the game winner at 40:47, unassisted. The Dolphins recorded six of their own goals in the half but it wasn't enough to surpass the Roadrunners. Ramapo earned the conference victory leading 17-12 in the end.

Silva added an additional seven saves in the half while Miller posted four of her own. The Dolphins held an edge in shots in the final 30 minutes of play, 16-15.

Ramapo returns to action on Tuesday, April 5th when they host NJAC conference rival Rowan University at 4pm.
