Newburgh, NY: The Ramapo College women's lacrosse team improved to 6-1 in the Skyline Conference with a 12-1 win over Bard College. The Roadrunners improve to 8-4 overall while the Raptors fall to 3-7 overall and 2-5 in the conference.
Amanda Barretta and
Michelle Gustafson led the Roadrunners with three goals each while
Adrianna Tepedino and
Jenna Pfarr scored two a piece.
Kristen Jakubik and
Colleen Steel added one goal while Tepedino led Ramapo with two assists.
Barretta scored just 36 seconds into the game off a pass from Pfarr, both teams had trouble finding the net the next nine minutes before Tepedino teamed up with Jakubik to put Ramapo up 2-0 with just under 20 minutes to play in the first half. Barretta and Pfarr each scored two more goals in the half and Jakubik netted one goal, 7-0.
The Roadrunners added five goals in the second half to take at 12-0 lead before Bard scored the final goal of the game by Victoria Fleisher, 12-1.
Diana Silva made four saves for Ramapo and the team out shot Bard, 34-10 in the game.
Ramapo returns to action on Tuesday when they host rival Kean in a NJAC/Skyline matchup at 4:00 PM.
