Throggs Neck, NY: The Ramapo College women's lacrosse team defeated SUNY Maritime, 17-6 today on the road behind
Amanda Barretta's five goals. The Roadrunners even their record to 3-3 and 1-1 in the Skyline conference.
Ramapo got on the board just 2:47 minutes into the game when
Kristen Jakubik took a pass from
Jenna Pfarr to put them up 1-0.
Michelle Gustafson, Barretta and
Adrianna Tepedino all recorded goals for the Roadrunners in the next three minutes for a 4-0 edge. Jakubik and Barretta converted on their free position shots to take a 6-0 lead before Maritime got on the board.
The Roadrunners scored three more goals to end the half with a 9-2 lead.
Diana Silva recorded four saves in the first half while Ramapo outshot the Privateers 17-7. In the second half, Ramapo added eight goals to Maritime's four. Jakubik once again got the Roadrunners on the board as she scored a goal three minutes into the half, she was assisted by Barretta.
Jenna Pfarr and
Adrianna Tepedino teamed up on two straight goals for a 12-3 lead.
Colleen Steel and
Amanda Ferry along with Barretta all added goals in the second half. Silva finished the game with five saves in the complete game win.
The Roadrunners return to action this Sunday when they host Mount Saint Vincent at 1:00 PM.
