ROADRUNNERS FALL TO #3 LIONS, 19-1

Ewing, NJ: The College of New Jersey's women's lacrosse team kept its perfect record en tact as the Lions cruised to a 19-1 conference win over Ramapo College on Thursday.

Third-ranked TCNJ improved to 7-0 on the season and 2-0 in the New Jersey Athletic Conference, while the Roadrunners dropped to 0-2 in conference action and 2-3 overall.

The hosts took control early as senior Ali Jaeger (Hampton, NJ/North Hunterdon) and opened the scoring 40 seconds into the game. TCNJ netted the initial four goals of the game before the Roadrunners scored on a free-position shot to get on the board.

The Lions then rattled off the final 10 goals of the half for a commanding 14-1 lead at the half.

In the final 30 minutes, the Lions added five more goals to remain undefeated.

Junior Kathleen Notos (Pennsauken, NJ/Camden Catholic) led all players with six goals raising her total to a team-leading 28 on the season. Jaeger finished with a seven-point performance scoring four times and assisting on three others, while junior Sara Keating (Upper Montclair, NJ/Montclair) scored three goals and added an assist. Freshman Jen Garavente (Monroe Twp., NJ/Monroe Twp.) also finished with a hat trick for the Lions.

Leigh Mitchell (Mt. Laurel, NJ/Lenape) finished with one goal, but dished out five more assists. Mitchell leads the NJAC with 29 helpers and has 99 for her career. Her next assist would make the only player in program history to record at least 100 assists.

Senior goalie Mary Waller (Bel Air, MD/C. Milton Wright) had a quiet night as she made one save for the Lions.

For Ramapo, Amanda Barretta (Roseland, NJ/West Essex) scored on a free-position shot, while goalie Diana Silva (Howell, NJ/Howell) made eight saves.
