Kissimmee, FL: The Ramapo College softball team opened the 2011 season with two wins at the Rebel Spring Games. The Roadrunners defeated Wisconsin River-Falls in a come back win 4-3 before defeating Springfield College, 6-3.
The Roadrunners would come from behind down 3-0, with one out in the bottom of the sixth inning, scoring four runs to take a 4-3 lead.. With runners at first and second for Ramapo, Krystal Kmeichick placed a perfect sacrifice bunt to advance the runners before

Amanda Kent ripped a two-RBI triple to left center field plating
Kelsey Higgins and Russomanno to tie the game at three.
Danielle Rothenberger drove in Kent with a line drive single to center field for Ramapo's fourth run of the game. The Roadrunners held River-Falls in the top of the seventh to earn their first win of the season.
River-Falls got on the board in the top of the first inning scoring an unearned run to take a 1-0 lead. They tacked on two more runs in the fourth inning following a Ramapo error and run scoring single to take a 3-0 lead.
Deanna Giordano (1-0) went the distance on the mound for Ramapo, striking out six without walking a batter. Kent was 2-4 while Rothenberger was a perfect 3-3 at the plate.
In game two, against Springfield College, the Roadrunners took a 1-0 lead on
Janet Brown's home run over the right center field wall in the top of the fourth before Springfield came back to tie the game in the bottom half of the inning. Kelly Blake ripped a double to center field and later scored on an infield ground out to tie the game at one going into the fifth inning.
Higgins lead off the inning with a single to right field before
Krystal Kmiechick's sacrifice bunt was misplayed putting runner's at first and third for Ramapo. Kmiechick stole second before Malgeri ripped a single to left field, allowing both runners to score to take a 3-1 lead with no outs. Brady, pinch running for Malgeri, scored on Ashley Schrripa's two out single down the left field line to take a 4-1 lead.
Springfield got two runs back in the bottom of the sixth inning when Amanda Novak hit a two-run home run to straight away center field to come, 4-3. Ramapo got those two runs back in the top of the seventh inning to take a 6-3 lead. Rothenberger ripped a ball back to the pitcher with the bases loaded, scoring Malgeri from third base before Schirripa recorded a fielder's choice RBI, plating Kent for Ramapo's sixth run of the game. Ramapo held Springfield in the bottom of the inning for the victory.
Lyndsay Buehler (1-0) picked up the win for Ramapo as she struck out four and walked none. Malgeri was 2-3 with two RBI and a run scored while Kent was 3-4 with one RBI.
The Roadrunners return to action tomorrow afternoon when they take on Nazareth at 3pm and Carthage at 5pm.
