Box Score Jamaica, NY: The Ramapo College women's basketball team improved to 7-2 overall with a 71-48 road win over York College tonight. The Cardinals fall to 0-10.
The Roadrunners started off the first half on a 8-0 run before York got on the board at the 15:33 mark, 8-2 before Ramapo stretched the lead to seven, 13-6 on a layup by Kerri Kosakowski, she was assisted by
Jackie Jerkovich. The Cardinals came within one point, 15-14 (6:36) before Ramapo's
Kelly Haspel hit a three pointer off a steal by
Alexa Ryan to put the Roadrunners up 20-14. The Roadrunners went on a 9-4 run to end the half with a 27-18 lead.
Ramapo held at least an 11 point lead the entire second half while they started to pull away with less than seven minutes to play as
Alex Milne drained two foul shots to take an 18 point lead, 53-35. Their biggest lead of the game came with 1:55 remaining in the game as
Brittany Howes drained a jumper, 70-42.
Ramapo shot 83% from the charity stripe (20-24) while they shot 38% from the field and 25% from behind the three point line. Ryan led the team with 15 points as she was 9-10 from the foul line, she collected four steals and one assist.
Lindsey Gripenburg added 12 points, six rebounds, two assists while
Kelly Haspel posted 11 points, three steals and two assists. Jerkovich posted ten points, four assists and two steals while
Faith Flannery added eight points, and tied a team high in rebounds with seven while dishing out four assists.
The Roadrunners return to action when they travel to Huntingdon, PA for the Juniata Classic hosted by Juniata College. Ramapo will play Saint Vincent College on December 29th at 5:30pm and Juniata the following day at 4pm.
