Adrianna Tepedino (Freehold, NJ) scored five goals, including the game winner to propel the #2 Ramapo College women's lacrosse team to a 15-10 win over #3 Farmingdale State.
The Roadrunners improve to 10-5 on the year and advance to the 2010 Skyline Conference Championship game on Saturday, against the winner of #1 Montclair State University and #4 Kean University. The game will be played at the highest remaining seed.
Sophomore
Amanda Barretta (Roseland, NJ) got Ramapo on the board just 28 second into the game off a pass from sophomore
Jessica Long (Wayne, NJ) before the Rams tied the game, 1-1 on a goal by Victoria Perullo, she was assisted by Kathy Waite. The Rams held a short lead when they scored an unassisted goal by Justine Rothar, 2-1 before the Roadrunners tied the game as Barretta ripped a shot into the net, 2-2. That allowed Ramapo to score five unanswered goals to take at 7-2 lead before Emily Wiliams scored with under eight minutes to play in the first half for the Rams, 7-3.
In the second half Rothar and Williams recorded goals for the Rams to come within 7-5 before Tepedino tallied her fourth goal of the game, unassisted to go up 8-5. Rothar and senior
Angela Belotta (Colonia, NJ) traded made free position shots, 9-6 in favor of the Roadrunners before Barretta hit the back of the net, unassisted, 10-6. Rothar tallied a goal a few minutes later before Tepedino ripped a shot into the back of the net for Ramapo to take a 11-7 lead.
Junior
Colleen Steel (Wyckoff, NJ) and Tepedino would team up for the second time today, as Steel hit the back of the net for her first goal of the game, 12-7. Williams scored on a free position shot before Ramapo pulled away as Barretta scored back to back goals, 14-8. Williams recorded a goal with under eight mintues remaining before Barretta tallied the 15th goal for Ramapo with just under three minutes to play in the half. The Rams posted the final goal in the game as Waite tallied a goal with four seconds remaining, 15-10.
Barretta tallied six goals for Ramapo while Tepedino tallied five goals and one assist. Belotta recorded two goals while Steel posted two assists and one goal and junior
Jenna Pfarr (Cranford, NJ) tallied one.
The Roadrunners and Rams were even in shots in the game with 28 while the Roadrunners led in draw controls, 14-13. Ramapo was 17-19 in clears to the Rams, 8-11.
Tierney recorded three saves in the first half and seven saves in the second with only ten goals allowed in 60 minutes of play.
