RAMAPO CRUISES BY BARD, 19-2, FOR FIRST CONFERENCE WIN

Mahwah, NJ: The Ramapo College women's lacrosse team improved to 3-1 today and earned their first win of the year in the Skyline Conference (1-0) with a 19-2 victory over the Raptors of Bard College, behind two goals from sophomore Amanda Barretta (Roseland, NJ). Bard falls to 0-2 overall, 0-2 in the conference.

In the first half, Barretta tallied three goals and one assist to lead the Roadrunners in an 11-2 attack against the Raptors. Senior Angela Belotta (Colonia, NJ) scored two goals while sophomore Christina Cigolini (Ridgewood, NJ) chipped in two of her own. Sophomores Colleen Steel (Wyckoff, NJ) and Jessica Long (Wayne, NJ) each scored one goal while rookie Adrianna Tepedino (Freehold, NJ) and junior Jenna Pfarr (Cranford, NJ) each contributed a goal. Steel and Long each assisted on two goals during the half.

For the Raptors Bridgette Reddington (Caldwell, NJ) and Kim Larie (Londonderry, NH) each hit the back of the net in the first 30 minutes of play.

Ramapo out shot the Raptors, 27-6 in the first half while Diana Silva (Howell, NJ) posted three saves. Hannah Becker (Wayne, PA) recorded nine saves with 11 goals against.

In the second half of play, Silva recorded one additional save while her team put seven additional goals in Bard's net to take a 19-2 win. Steel opened up the scoring for the Roadrunners in the second half on an assist from Tepedino, before Amanda Ferry (Gloucester City, NJ) put away her second goal of the year. Katie Bruno (Middletown, NJ), Katrina Hill (Metuchen, NJ), Samantha Litchfield (Clifton, NJ), Jourdan Chiavaro (Manchester, NJ), Jessica Arena (Jefferson, NJ), and Maria Nappo (Oceanport, NJ) rounded out the scoring for the Roadrunners.

Ramapo again held a lead in shots with 16 over Bard's two and Becker finished the final half with four saves.

The Roadrunners return to action when they travel to NJAC/Skyline foe, Kean University on March 24th at 4:00 PM.
