Giuseppe Nicola Trani (Wayne, NJ) recorded five points leading the Ramapo College men's soccer team to a 5-0 victory over SUNY Old Westbury today on the road in a non-conference match-up. With the shut out victory, the Roadrunners improve to 5-0-1 overall on the year.

Rob Santaniello (Oakland, NJ) opened the scoring when he ripped a shot past the Panther netminder to lift his team, 1-0, over Old Westbury in just the 6th minute of the game, before junior
Jeff Walsh (Frankline Lakes, NJ) connected on a pass from senior
Justin Stone (Marlboro, NJ) at 23:12, to go up two goals to none which stood until the halftime horn. Sophomore
Frank Vogas (Clifton, NJ) earned the assist on Santaniello's goal.
Ramapo held Old Westbury to only four first half shots, senior goalkeeper
Ian Tighe (Wyckoff, NJ) making three saves. The Roadrunners took ten shots in the first 45 minutes while testing William Montenegro on four total occasions.
Trani posted back-to-back goals at 65:16 and 84:10 for his first four points of the game, before assisting sophomore
Jaivon Palmer (Englewood, NJ) in the 88th minute earning his fifth game point. Rookie
Joseph Kane (Delran, NJ) earned a point assisting Trani's second goal, the fourth of the game.
Tighe completed the shut out, his fourth of the year,and made two more saves in the second half, helping to lead the Roadrunners to the 5-0 victory. Ramapo edged Old Westbury again in the second half in shots, 11-4. For the game, Ramapo earned three corner kicks to Old Westbury's two.
The Roadrunners open the 2009 NJAC season on Saturday, September 19th when they travel to Rutgers Newark for a 7:00pm start.
