Mahwah, NJ:  The Ramapo College women's lacrosse team fell to Manhattanville College today, 16-3 at the Athletic Center. The Roadrunners fall to 0-3 on the season while the Valiants improve to 4-4.

Manhattanville would score 11 goals in the first half to Ramapo's two. Junior Katie Bartel (Colorado Springs, CO.) got the Valiants on the board with a goal just under five minutes into the game before senior Cory Alcon (Orangeville, Ontario) put Manhattanville up 2-0.

Ramapo cut the score in half with a goal from sophomore Angela Belotta (Colonia, NJ) before junior Abbe Grimes (Hamden, CT) scored back to back goals to stretch the lead to, 4-1 in favor of the Valiants.

Rookie Jenna Pfarr (Cranford, NJ) ripped a shot into the net with less than twelve minutes to go in the first half on a pass from senior Eveline Rutledge (Plainsboro, NJ) closing the gap, 2-5. The Valiants scored five more time in the first half behind Grimes who scored two more goals.

Rookie Darby Webber (Walpole, MA) scored an unassisted goal to start the second half before Alcorn connected with junior Colleen Holahan (New Hyde Park, NY) to add another for the Valiants, 2-13. Rookie Emelda Ogweta (Portland, ME) recorded an unassisted goal before Grimes scored her sixth and seventh goals of the game to put Manhattanville up, 2-16. Rutgledge score with under thirty seconds to play, for her team leading fifth goal of the season.

The Roadrunners will return to action when they host Castleton State College on April 4th, 2008 at 4:30 PM.
