OVERTIME IN ROWAN’S FAVOR

Mahwah, NJ:  The Roadrunner men's soccer team dropped a tough 1-0 overtime decision today to the Profs of Rowan University at the Athletic Center in Mahwah in a New Jersey Athletic Conference match-up.  The loss is only Ramapo's second of the year.  Ramapo falls to 9-2-1 overall, 2-2-1 in the conference while Rowan improves to 8-5-1 overall and 2-3-1 in the conference.

After 90 minutes of scoreless soccer, Ramapo and Rowan headed into overtime after a pretty even regulation game with shots going in Rowan's favor by only one, 13-12.  The Profs took one shot in the first overtime after a foul called just outside the 18-yard box.  Senior forward Tom Gannon (Toms River, NJ) ripped the shot past sophomore goalkeeper #Ian Tighe# (Wyckoff, NJ) with 5:58 left to play to earn the 1-0 victory.

Tighe posted eight saves in the loss while senior net minder Kevin Nuss (Swedesboro, NJ) blocked six Ramapo shots.

The Roadrunners return to action on Saturday, October 13th when they travel to Richard Stockton College at 1:00 PM.  The Profs face off with Rutgers Newark at home at 7:00 PM.
