Mahwah, NJ: The Ramapo College women's basketball team posted a 58-36 loss today at the Bradley Center in Mahwah to NJAC Conference rival Richard Stockton. Ramapo wraps up their 2005-2006 season 10-15 overall, 5-13 in the conference while Stockton improves to 21-4 overall, 16-2 in the NJAC. The win, Stockton's 21st, breaks the record for most wins (20) in the school's history which was set back during the 1983-1984 season. Stockton holds the #1 seed in the championship tournament which commences on Monday, February 20th.
The Roadrunners finished the first half six points behind the Ospreys 19-25 after opening the game in a see-saw fashion with two quick lead changes in the first three minutes. The Ospreys finally pulled away with eight minutes left to play in the half with a 6-0 mini-run sparked by senior Danielle Walder (Jobstown, NJ) who hit a jumper to push the Ospreys ahead by seven. Alison Werkman (Trenton, NJ) on the line. Werkman hit one and rookie
Khiada Evans (Newark, NJ) hit two of her own followed by a Werkman jumper to come within six. Stockton spread the gap back to eight and Ramapo answered with another jumper to end the half just six points behind the Ospreys. The Roadrunners hit 7-27 (26%) in the half behind the Osprey's 8-28 (29%). Evans led Ramapo with seven first half points while adding three steals. For the Ospreys, Jessica Rainey (Hillsborough, NJ) led the way with nine points shooting a perfect 6-6 from the line and Jenna Shenk (Mt. Laurel, NJ) followed with six first half points of her own.

Kelly Bartz (Madison, NJ) to close the gap to three and the Ospreys answered with an 8-0 run to take the lead, 33-22 and control of the game. The Ospreys slowly spread their lead grabbing a 19 point lead with just over eight to play and reaching a 20 point advantage at the 1:30 minute mark. They finished the day with their biggest lead of the game, 22, with the 56-38 victory.
Rainey finished the game with 18 points shooting 4-7 from the field continuing her perfect reign at the line hitting another 3-3 in the half. Lisa Neir (Cresskill, NJ) posted nine points in the win and Walder added nine of her own. Bartz led the Roadrunners with eight total points and Evans finished the day with seven. Stockton held all Ramapo's scorer's to single digits hitting 20-52 of their own. Ramapo shot 13-50 in the loss.
