SCILLIERI CONNECTS WITH MAZZUTO DROPPING #8 TCNJ, 1-0 IN NJAC ACTION

Mahwah , NJ : The Lions of the College of New Jersey recorded their first loss of the season today as they fell short to the Roadrunners of Ramapo College, 1-0 in men's soccer NJAC action in Mahwah. Ramapo improves to 6-1 overall, 2-0 in the New Jersey Athletic Conference while TCNJ falls to 5-1-1 overall, 1-1 in the conference.

The first half ended in a stand still with Ramapo holding a 5-4 edge in shots. In the final 45 minutes, 73:12 into the game, rookie JIM SCILLIERI (Wayne, NJ ) connected with junior captain WILL MAZZUTO (Saddle River, NJ ) off a corner scoring what turned out to be the game winner. The goal was SCILLIERI'S sixth of the season while the assist came as MAZZUTO'S fourth.

Rookie goaltender MIKE KULL (Millville, NJ) earns his sixth shut out of the year posting four saves in the 90 minutes. Sophomore Matt Kasperavicius (Jackson, NJ) of the College of New Jersey recorded five saves with one goal against in the loss.

Ramapo posted 18 shots in the match-up, seven on goal, while TCNJ recorded 12 total shots, five on net.

The Roadrunners will host William Paterson on Saturday, September 24th at 1:00 PM.
