ROWAN’S MCCORMACK POSTS 22 and 11 IN COME-FROM-BEHIND VICTORY OVER RAMAPO

Mahwah , NJ : The Profs of Rowan University posted a 71-66 NJAC overtime victory over the Roadrunners of Ramapo College today at the Bradley Center in Mahwah. Rowan improves to 9-5 overall, 4-3 in the New Jersey Athletic Conference while the Roadrunners fall to 6-7 overall, 2-5 in the conference.

With 13 minutes left in the game and Rowan down by 14, the Profs went on a 18-4 run ending with Stephanie Finke (Wood-Ridge, NJ ) hitting two free throws with 00:36 left, to tie the game and force overtime. In the overtime period, the Profs outscored Ramapo, 9-4 dropping the Roadrunners, 71-66 in Mahwah. Finke posted four of her points in overtime while sophomore Lauren Byrne (Paulsboro, NJ ) and Sheemea Carr (Glassboro, NJ ) chipped in three and two points respectively helping the Profs to their ninth win of the season.

Senior guard Jamie McCormack (Trenton, NJ ) led the Profs shooting 8-20 from the floor, 6-8 from behind the line netting 22 points. McCormack added 11 rebounds for the double-double while dishing out two assists and grabbing five steals. Junior Samantha Eskuchen (Brigantine, NJ) and Finke recorded 16 and 11 points respectively shooting a combined 6-22 from the field, 14-17 from the line and Byrne added nine points with a team-high 13 rebounds in the win.

For the Roadrunners, junior VANESSA VARGAS (Union City, NJ ) and sophomore KEONA PALMER (Port Reading, NJ) led the team posting 21 and 17 points shooting 9-17 and 7-14 respectively. VARGAS and PALMER each chipped in seven rebounds while VARGAS grabbed a team-high ten steals in the game. Despite the loss, Ramapo shot 37% over Rowan's 32%.

Ramapo returns to action on Wednesday, January 19th when they host conference rival Richard Stockton at 6:00 PM while Rowan heads to Marymount for a 2:00 PM start on Monday, January 17th.
