FINKE LEADS ROWAN WITH 13 POINTS, 21 BOARDS IN 55-50 WIN OVER RAMAPO

Mahwah, NJ: In a NJAC women's basketball match-up in Mahwah today, the Ramapo College Roadrunners fell to the Profs of Rowan University, 50-55. Ramapo stands at 11-10 overall, 3-7 in the New Jersey Athletic Conference Gold Division while Rowan improves to 17-4 overall, 9-1 in the conference.

Rowan held Ramapo to two points until eight minutes in when senior guard KATIE ARCURI (Staten Island, NY) banged a three-pointer closing the gap to six, 11-5. Sophomore KELLY BARTZ (Madison, NJ) hit a jumper at 11:39 and ARCURI drew a foul at 11:03 hitting 1-2, bringing Ramapo within three points of the Profs, 11-8. Ramapo went on a 7-0 run with five minutes left in the half ending 29-22 over Rowan. In the second 20 minutes of the game, Rowan's sophomore Sheemea Carr (Clayton, NJ) knocked down two tying the game at 12:20. Rowan shot 12-24 (50%) in the second half over Ramapo's 8-38 (21%) downing the Roadrunners by five for their 17th victory of the season.

Stephanie Finke (Wood-Ridge, NJ) recorded a double-double with 13 points and 21 boards shooting 6-11 from the floor. Samantha Eskuchen (Brigantine, NJ) and Jamie McCormack (Trenton, NJ) netted 16 and 12 points respectively combining for 17 total rebounds. Carr dished out a team-high five assists while adding nine boards and two steals in the game.

ARCURI finished the game with nine points while junior JANINE CAPPADONA (Atlantic Highlands, NJ) led the team with 11. VANESSA VARGAS (Union City, NJ) and DANIELLE HUNT (Englewood, NJ) knocked down seven points each and senior STEPHANIE PILLARI (Westwood, NJ) recorded five. PILLARI and CAPPADONA combined for six assists.

Ramapo will return to NJAC action on Saturday, February 14th when they travel to Richard Stockton at 2:00 PM.
