Ewing, NJ: The Ramapo College women's basketball team dropped a close match-up to the Lions of The College of New Jersey in Ewing, NJ at Panzer Gymnasium. The Roadrunners fall to 9-8 overall, 1-5 in the New Jersey Athletic Conference while the Lions improve to 9-6 overall, 6-1 in the conference.

Laura Mala (Ridgewood, NJ) netted 11 points leading the Lions, shooting 5-7 from the floor. Alexa Shields (Oakhurst, NJ) and Adrienne Warner (Sparta, NJ) recorded ten points apiece while Liz Martin (Shamong, NJ) added nine of her own. Martin grabbed a team-high 15 rebounds and Theresa DiMedio (Berlin, NJ) added ten. The Lions shot 23-56 (41%) from the floor, 7-23 (30%) from behind the three-point arc while the Roadrunners shot 20-63 (32%) and 6-21 (29%) respectively.

Junior JANINE CAPPADONA (Atlantic Highlands, NJ) and VANESSA VARGAS (Union City, NJ) led Ramapo with 12 points each while senior guard STEPHANIE PILLARI (Westwood, NJ) netted eight in the game. PILLARI pulled down six total rebounds and CAPPADONA added five while dishing out a team-high seven assists.

Ramapo will travel to Rutgers Newark on Wednesday, January 28th at 6:00 PM.
