Mahwah, NJ: The Ramapo College women's basketball team defeated the Gothic Knights of New Jersey City University 61-51 today at the Athletic Center. The Roadrunners improve to 12-12 overall and 7-10 in the NJAC, while NJCU drops to 4-20 overall, 1-16 in the conference.

The game was Ramapo's from the beginning, leading by as much as 21 in the second half. Ramapo shot 38% from the floor, while New Jersey City shot 39%.

For Ramapo, rookie VANESSA VARGAS (Union City, NJ) scored 14 points, while senior KATIE ARCURI (Staten Island, NJ) had ten. Sophomore CHRISTINA AIELLO (Brielle, NJ) pulled down a team high 12 rebounds and chipped in nine points.

For the Gothic Knights, Shondelle Browne (Irvington, NJ) surpassed the 1,000 mark with 12 points. Browne also led the team with 13 rebounds. Annie Basulto (Miami, FL) added in ten points for the night.

The Roadrunners play host to Stockton on Saturday, February 22nd at 2:00 PM for their final regular season game. ­
