Mahwah, NJ: The Ramapo College women's basketball team played host to the Profs of Rowan University today at the Athletic Center. The Roadrunners defeated Rowan 74-57 improving to 9-4 overall and 4-4 in the NJAC, while the Profs drop to 6-9 overall and 3-5 in the conference.
Today's victory marks the first time since 1992 that the Lady Roadrunners recorded a win against Rowan University, then called Glassboro College, defeating them 61-60.
The Roadrunners shot 42.1% from the floor over Rowan's 36.9%.
Senior KATIE ARCURI (Staten Island, NY) scored 20 points to lead the team. ARCURI also contributed eight rebounds and three assists. Senior CARLA COLUCCI (Emerson, NJ) knocked down 19 points, while rookie VANESSA VARGAS (Union City, NJ) recorded a double-double with 17 points and a team high 12 rebounds.
For Rowan Kami Bernardo (Roebling, NJ) scored 17 points and pulled down 11 rebounds. Chrissy DeMarco (Turnersville, NJ) added in 12 points of her own.
The Roadrunners will host Montclair State University on Wednesday, January 22, 2003 at 5:30 PM at the Athletic Center.
