Mahwah, NJ: The Ramapo College women's soccer team battled William Paterson University to a 0-0 draw tonight in NJAC action at the Athletic Center. The Roadrunners move to 3-3-3 overall and 0-3-1 in the conference while the Pioneers stand at 4-6-1 overall and 0-3-1 in the NJAC.
The two teams played to a scoreless first half with five shots each. William Paterson held a 7-3 advantage in shots in the second half, including an attempt by Christina Jimenez that hit the crossbar in the 71st minute. Ramapo's
Amber Maher and
Sofia Cascio each recorded a shot on goal in the second half, but Pioneer goalkeeper Alessandra Socio made both saves to preserve the shutout.
Maher led the Roadrunners with four shots while
Gabby Matias recorded two saves to the team's sixth shutout of the season. Socio also finished with two saves for William Paterson. The Pioneers held a 12-8 advantage in shots and a 4-3 edge in corner kicks.
The Roadrunners return to action on Wednesday, Oct. 14 when they travel to Rutgers-Camden for a 7:00 PM NJAC match.
