TCNJ WOMEN'S BASKETBALL POWERS PAST RAMAPO, 83-47

Mahwah, NJ:  The College of New Jersey women's basketball team defeated Ramapo College 83-47 today in NJAC action at the Bradley Center. The Lions improve to 11-9 overall and 10-3 in the NJAC while the Roadrunners now stand at 7-13 overall and 2-11 in the league.

TCNJ had control of the game from the start as they sank a quick three-pointer in the first quarter off the hands of Brooke McFadden. The Lions would tally 14 made three-pointers in the game as they shot 51% from beyond the three-point line (14-27). They also got 40 points from the bench in the game. The Lions held Ramapo to eight points in the first and seven points in the second as they went into the locker room up nineteen, 34-15. They added 21 points in the third and 28 points in the fourth quarter. TCNJ took their biggest lead of the game with 1:41 remaining with a 42-point lead. The Lions used a balanced scoring attack as five players scored in double figures, while no one scored more than 13 points. Amanda Baylock tallied 13 points to lead the way while Maddie Bernhardt added 12 points and four assists. Brooke McFadden tallied 11 points and six rebounds while Riley Ahrens also posted 11 points as she finished 4-4 from the field and 3-3 from the three-point line. Grace Kowalski finished with ten points. Myah Hourigan-Hutton led the way with 12 rebounds while adding five points while Katie Fricker posted seven rebounds and four points.

Vanessa Kohler led the way for the Roadrunners with 17 points as she finished 6-9 from the field and 5-7 from the free throw line. Lauren Flatt added seven points while Denay Jones and Ava Burke each contributed with six points. Jones also posted a team high five rebounds and two steals. The team shot 33% (16-48) from the field, 12% (2-16) from the three-point line and 81% (13-16) from the free throw line.

Ramapo returns to action on Wednesday when they travel to Montclair State University for a NJAC game set for 5:30 PM.
