Mahwah, NJ: The Ramapo College women's soccer team earned a 1-0 shutout NJAC victory over visiting Rutgers-Camden University tonight at the Athletic Center Turf Field. The Roadrunners improve to 4-2-1 overall and 1-0 in the NJAC while the Scarlet Raptors move to 1-4-3 overall and 0-1 in the league.
Ramapo scored late in the first half when
Julianna Capitanello hit the back of the net, unassisted in the 41st minute (40:41) of action. The Roadrunners held the Scarlet Raptors scoreless to capture their third shutout this season.
Gabby Matias posted eight saves to tie her season high in goal for Ramapo. The Roadrunners collected seven shots in the game including two on goal while they recorded one corner kick. For the Scarlet Raptors, the team tallied 11 shots and eight on goal while they recorded two corner kicks. Gisselle Lizardi posted one save for Rutgers-Camden in the game.
The Roadrunners return to action on Wednesday night when they travel to William Paterson University for a NJAC game at 6:00 PM.
