Williamsport, PA: The Ramapo College women's soccer team played to a 1-1 draw against Penn College tonight in non-conference action. The Roadrunners move to 3-2-2 overall while the Wildcats now stand at 7-0-2 on the year.
Both teams scored in the first half with the Roadrunners getting on the board in the 13th minute.
Morgan Korinchak hit the back of the net as she tallied her first goal of the season to give Ramapo a 1-0 lead. Late in the first half the Wildcats were awarded a penalty kick as Sara Darlington collected her third goal of the year to tie the game, 1-1. In the second half, the Roadrunners had a chance to score in the 61st minute as a header from
Kasey Pohan sailed wide. The Wildcats had a few shots in the final few minutes of the game as Ramapo netminder
Gabby Matias came up big with two saves.
Matias recorded eight saves in the game for the Roadrunners while the team tallied nine shots in the game including four on goal. Ramapo held a 4-3 advantage in corner kicks in the game. The Wildcats posted 12 shots in the game including nine on goal. Taylor Brownback posted three saves in the game for Penn College.
The Roadrunners return to action on Saturday at home when they host Rutgers-Camden University in the first NJAC game of the season at 7pm.
