Mahwah, NJ: The Ramapo College men's soccer team shutout Penn College today at the Athletic Center Turf Field, 4-0. The Roadrunners improve to 5-1-1 overall while the Wildcats move to 4-3 on the year.
Luigi Portillo assisted on three of the team's four goals in the game this afternoon.
Lucas Mielnikiewicz hit the back of the net with the eventual game-winner in the 8th minute of action (7:59) with Portillo assisting.
Leo Mandile tallied his second goal of the season in the 34th minute (33:39) as Portillo and
Jalal Khalifeh earned an assist. In the second half,
Dylan Biernacki scored his third (81:26) and fourth (87:27) goals of the season to extend the Ramapo lead, 4-0. Biernacki's first goal came off a pass from Portillo before the final goal of the game was assisted by
Ryan Fernandez.
Ramapo recorded 19 shots including nine shots on goal in the game while they posted eight corner kicks. Penn posted eight total shots in the game with just one on goal while they earned four corner kicks.
The Roadrunners return to action on Monday, Sept. 22nd when they host the City College of New York in a non-conference game at 7pm.
