Mahwah, NJ: The Ramapo College women's volleyball team extended their winning streak to four straight matches with a 3-0 (25-18, 25-18, 25-22) victory over Centenary University tonight at the Bradley Center. The Roadrunners move to 5-1 overall while the Cyclones drop to 4-5 on the year.
Asya Akar led the Roadrunners with 16 kills as she hit .500 in the match with one ace, four digs and one assisted block.
Valentina Palen posted ten kills, two assists and two digs.
Jasmine Rolle added five kills, one solo block and two assisted blocks while Scarlette Melick also put down five kills with two digs.
Katie Bishop dished out a team high 30 assists while recording two kills, two aces, two assisted blocks and eight digs.
Emma Garcia led the team on defense with 12 digs while she added five assists.
Claudia Cosme also collected ten digs on defense for the team. Ramapo hit .250 overall with 42 kills on 96 attempts with 18 errors.
The Cyclones were led by Poppy Skjonnermand who posted 14 kills, two aces and ten digs. Jenny Thistlethwaite added seven kills, two assists, three aces and four digs while Vanessa led the way with ten assists. On defense, Rey Bennett tallied nine digs while adding one kill and three assists. Centenary posted 24 kills on 92 attempts with 20 errors.
The Roadrunners travel to John Jay College on Saturday, Sept. 20th when they take on the host Bloodhounds at 11am and Old Westbury at 1pm.
