Jersey City, NJ: The Ramapo College softball team blanked New Jersey City University today in a pair of 9-0 wins. The Roadrunners improved to 26-7 overall and 10-5 in the NJAC while the Gothic Knights drop to 15-19 overall and 2-14 in the league.

Alex Hastings with a double to right-centerfield before
Ysabellah Otero drove in Gargiulo with a double of her own, 4-0. In the third, Milsom drove in Hensler with a hard hit single up the middle before she later scored on a single to left field from Clay'le Correa-Vanness for a 6-0 lead. Correa-Vanness later scored on a throwing error by NJCU, 7-0. In the seventh, the Roadrunners added their final two runs. Milsom and Correa-Vanness each singled before they each moved up on a stolen base. The throw down to third to try and get Milsom out sailed wide, allowing her to race home for the team's eighth run of the game.
Katie Rygiel lifted a deep fly ball out to right which allowed Correa-Vanness to move to third before Hastings drove her in with an RBI groundout, 9-0.
Marissa DiPaolo (12-4) struck out five, walked two and scattered five NJCU hits in the complete game shutout victory. Milsom led the way at the plate as she finished 3-3 with a walk, three runs scored and an RBI. Gargiulo also collected three hits including a double with one run scored and one RBI.
Game Two: Ramapo 9, NJCU 0 – Five Innings
Rygiel led off the game with a double before moving to third on a groundout from Hastings. With two outs,
Avery Kontura drove in Rygiel with a double to get the Roadrunners on the board. In the third, Hastings reached on a fielder's choice as NJCU got the second out of the innings before she stole second. Gargiulo picked up a two-out RBI with a double to left field as Hastings scored for a 2-0 score. In the third inning, Otero doubled, moved to third on a hard-hit single from
Sophia Diaz and Otero later scored on a single from Correa-Vanness. With one out in the fifth inning, Gargiulo and Kontura each singled before Otero was hit by a pitch to load the bases. Hensler drilled a double to right field to plate two runs before Diaz recorded an infield single to load the bases once again. Milsom reached on a NJCU fielding error which allowed Otero to score an unearned run, 6-0. Rygiel then recorded a two-out two-RBI single up the middle as Milsom and Diaz both scored, 9-0.
Kassy Stefanski (9-2) spun a one-hitter with eight strikeouts while she did not walk a batter in the complete game shutout. Rygiel and Gargiulo each collected three hits and one run in the game for the Roadrunners while Rygiel collected two RBI and Gargiulo added one.
The Roadrunners wrap up the regular season on Saturday, April 26th on the road at Kean University for a pair of NJAC games beginning at 1:00pm.
