Mahwah, NJ: The Ramapo College men's basketball team will host the first two rounds of the NCAA Tournament this Friday and Saturday at the Bradley Center on
Chuck McBreen Court.
Â
The Roadrunners (20-7) earned one of the 21 at-large bids announced on Monday afternoon during the selection show on ncaa.com, which revealed the full 64-team NCAA bracket. Ramapo is ranked #18 in the final NPI standings and will face Claremont-Mudd-Scripps (20-7) on Friday at 6:15 PM. This match-up marks the first meeting between the Roadrunners and the Stags, as CMS won the SCIAC Championship to secure the league's automatic bid. This tournament marks the 10th appearance in program history for the Roadrunners and the ninth under head coach
Chuck McBreen. Previously, Ramapo has been chosen to host the NCAA men's basketball tournament on several occasions, the most recent being in the 2018 season when they made their second appearance in the Final Four.
Â
In the first game on Friday at 3:45 PM, Drew University (24-3), ranked #10 in NPI, will compete against the University of Mary Washington (13-14). Both teams earned automatic bids by winning their respective championships—the Rangers with the Landmark Conference Championship and the Eagles with the Coast-to-Coast Conference Championship. This marks the Eagles' fourth appearance in the tournament, while it will be the Rangers' first.
Â
The 64-team, single-elimination tournament features 43 automatic qualifiers and 21 at-large bids. The semifinals and championship game will be held at the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum in Fort Wayne, Indiana, on March 20 and 22.
