Dallas, PA: The Ramapo College women's swim team competed at Misericordia University this afternoon in a Tri-Meet hosted by the Cougars which also included visiting Wilkes University. The Roadrunners defeated Wilkes, 170-69, while they fell to the Cougars, 169-73.
Madi Benefield led the Roadrunners with two first place finishes in the tri-meet. Benefield won the 100 fly (1:03.48) and the 500 freestyle (5:49.39) while she placed second in the 200 freestyle (2:07.33).
Sovy Taylor finished second in the 100 freestyle in 58.15 seconds while
Mairin Huston grabbed a second-place finish in the 100 backstroke in 1:10.30. In the 100 breaststroke,
Valeria Pages grabbed a second-place finish with a time of 1:13.93. Third place finishes included
Grace Korey in the 200 freestyle (2:14.97) & the 100 breaststroke (1:18.48), Pages in the 50 breaststroke (34.96 seconds),
Alazne Sudupe in the 100 fly (1:04.86) and Taylor in the 50 freestyle (26:51 seconds). In the relays, Ramapo finished second in the 200 freestyle with a combined time of 1:48.89. The team was made up of Benefield, Sudupe,
Brenna Philson and Taylor. The team also placed third in the 200 medley relay with a combined time of 2:05.53. The team was made up of Huston, Pages, Sudupe and Philson.
The Roadrunners return to action in 2026 when they host New Paltz on Jan. 17th at 2:00 PM. The team will honor their senior class in a pre-meet ceremony.
