Mahwah, NJ: The Stockton University women's volleyball team defeated Ramapo College, 3-0 (25-18, 25-20, 25-12) in the final NJAC regular season match of the season for both teams. The Ospreys improve to 20-6 overall and 6-2 in the conference while the Roadrunners move to 16-10 overall and 3-5 in the NJAC. Both teams have clinched a spot in the NJAC Women's Volleyball Tournament and the bracket will be released later this evening.
The Ospreys hit .378 in the match with 36 total kills on 74 attempts and just eight errors. Kate Louer led the way with 15 kills, hitting .433 in the match while she posted seven digs, two blocks and one assist. Olivia Magro tallied six kills and hit .400 in the match while recording four digs. On defense, McKenna Ritchie tallied eight digs to lead the team on defense while Lauren Sommer recorded five aces. Kristen Burton and Regan Mendick split the setting duties as Burton tallied 19 assists while Mendick recorded 12.
Asya Akar led the way for the Roadrunners with 10 kills while recording two aces and two digs.
Jasmine Rolle added six kills while
Valentina Palen posted five kills, two aces, three digs and one assist.
Emma Garcia led the way on defense with nine digs while
Katie Bishop posted 20 assists, two aces, two kills and six digs. Ramapo collected 27 kills in the match on 79 attempts with 16 errors.
The Roadrunners return to action on Saturday, Nov. 8th when they host Baruch College in the final regular season match of the season. The non-conference match is scheduled for 12:00 PM while the team will also honor their senior captain,
Katie Bishop in a pre-match ceremony.
