Mahwah, NJ: The Ramapo College women's volleyball team defeated Baruch College today in the final regular season game of the season. The Roadrunners improve to 17-10 overall while the Bearcats drop to 11-14 on the year.
The Roadrunners were led by
Asya Akar who posted a double-double with 14 kills and 10 digs in the match.
Valentina Palen posted eight kills and 14 digs while
Jasmine Rolle hit .455 overall with six kills on 11 attempts with just one error. Rolle also collected a solo block and an assisted block.
Scarlett Melick contributed with six kills as she hit .462 overall on 13 attempts with zero errors. On defense,
Emma Garcia also recorded 14 digs to lead the team along with Palen (14).
Katie Bishop led the team with five aces and 30 assists along with two kills and nine digs. The Roadrunners recorded 37 kills on 110 attempts with just 10 errors as they hit .245 overall.
Alicia Graves led Baruch with eight kills with two blocks (one solo) while Dibjot Kaur and Ella Wang each collected seven kills in the match. Dibjot and Pei Qiong Ren each collected 14 digs to lead the team while Ava Tartour posted 12 of her own in the match. Karen Pozo Castro dished out a team high 29 assists while adding four blocks and one block.
The Roadrunners, who are the #6 seed in the NJAC Tournament, will return to action on Tuesday, November 11th when they travel to #3 Stockton University for a first-round tournament match. The match is set to begin at 7:00 PM.
