HOOD TOPS RAMAPO IN MEN'S BASKETBALL ACTION

Westminster, MD:  The Hood College men's basketball team defeated Ramapo College this afternoon, 93-73. The Blazers remain undefeated at 3-0 overall while the Roadrunners drop to 1-2 overall.

The Blazers had four players score in double figures including three starters as Jevon Yarbrough led the way with 21 points. Karron Mallory and Kullen Robinson each tallied 18 points. Robinson nearly recorded a double-double as he pulled down eight rebounds and collected three assists and one block. Jake Dallas posted 13 points and four assists. The team put up 39 three-pointers in the game and made 19 as Yarbrough, Mallory and Robinson each sank four each. The Blazers shot 47% (34-72) from the field, 48% (19-39) from the three-point line and 66% (6-9) from the free throw line. Ramapo made the first basket of the game, a jumper from Roland Majors, before the Blazers built a 17-point first half lead. The Roadrunner would cut that lead to 12 at the half as Hood led, 53-41. Hood would extend their lead to 31 multiple times in the second half before Ramapo went on a 13-0 run. Nahum Lewis started the run for the Roadrunners with a hook shot with 7:59 on the clock and Jalen Thomas capped it off with a layup with 2:44 remaining to cut the lead to 18. In the final 2:44 of the game, the Blazers finished on a 4-2 run of their own to cap off the 93-73 non-conference victory.

Tim Linton led the Roadrunners with 18 points as he finished 7-10 from the field and 4-7 from the free throw line. He also pulled down seven rebounds while adding one assist. Jack O'Leary came off the bench and tallied 13 points in 20 minutes played, hitting three three-pointers in the game. Elijah Barlow tallied ten points, two rebounds and two assists. Tyrell Murchison contributed with seven rebounds, two assists, five points and one steal while Enoch Hutchinson posted nine points, two rebounds and two assists. Ramapo shot 43% (25-57) from the field, 20% (5-25) from the three-point line and 69% (18-26) from the free throw line. The Roadrunners defense forced 11 Hood turnovers which led to 12 points for Ramapo.

Ramapo returns to action on Wednesday, Nov. 19th when they travel to Lancaster Bible College for a non-conference game at 7:30 PM.
