Mahwah, NJ: The College of New Jersey women's swim team defeated Ramapo College, 171-87. The Lions move to 1-1 in dual meet action while the Roadrunners now stand at 2-2 overall.
MadI Benefield won the 1,000 freestyle by over three seconds when she touched the wall in 11:28.75. Benefield also won the 200 fly in 2:21.53, winning the race in over eight seconds.
Sovy Taylor won the 50 freestyle in 25.79 seconds while she placed second in the 100 freestyle in 57.66 seconds. Benefield placed second in the 500 freestyle when she clocked in at 5:34.67.
Valeria Pages grabbed a second-place finish in the 100 breaststroke in 1:14.19 while Sudupe placed second in the 100 butterfly in 1:03.19. The 200 freestyle relay team won the event with a combined time of 1:45.79. The team was made up of Taylor, Sudupe, Pages and Benefield. The 200 medley relay team placed second overall with a combined time of 2:02.23 as the team was made up of
Mairin Huston, Pages, Sudupe and
Brenna Philson.
The Roadrunners return to action on November 21st when they travel to Misericordia University for the Cougar Splash for a three-day meet.
