Hampton, VA: The Ramapo College swim team opened the 2026 NJAC Swimming Championship Meet tonight at Hampton Aquaplex. The women's team sits in ninth place while the men's team sits in eighth place after day one.
The women's team competed in the 800 freestyle relay and captured the second fastest time in program history. The team logged a combined time of 8:03.72 which is just three seconds off the program record and an eighth place finish. The Ramapo team was made up of
Madi Benefield,
Sovy Taylor,
Alazne Sudupe and
Valeria Pages. The 200 medley relay team finished ninth overall and was made up of Sudupe, Pages, Benefield and Taylor, recorded a combined time of 1:53.35. The time was also a season best for the Roadrunners.
On the men's side, the 200 medley relay team posted a time of 1:36.16 also punching a season best. Their time was just over two seconds off the program all-time best. The team, who finished eighth overall, was made up of
Andy Shkolnik,
Joe Swede,
Adam Wright and
Doruk Evcimen. The 800 freestyle relay team clocked in with a combined time of 7:19.89, for an 8th place finish. The team was made up of Wright, Swede,
Matthew O'Brien and Evcimen.
The Roadrunners return to action tomorrow morning in the second session of the NJAC Championships at 9:30am while the third session begins at 5:30pm. Live video link can be
