Mahwah, NJ: The Ramapo College women's soccer team blanked the City College of New York tonight at the Athletic Center Turf Field, 4-0. The Roadrunners move to 5-4-1 overall while the Beavers drop to 1-6-1 overall.
The Roadrunners tallied four goals in the game as they were led by
Gigi Santana who scored two goals, including the game-winner.
Marisa Christ crossed a ball into the box and Santana was on the other end of it as she hit the back of the net for her first collegiate goal of her career. Her first goal of the game came in the 7th minute (6:37) of action before
Julianna Capitanello scored her second goal of the season, unassisted, with 29:10 on the clock. In the second half, Santana collected her own rebound off the crossbar and tallied her second goal (48:05) before
Lauren Orr scored her first goal of the year in the 64th minute (63:38) to put the Roadrunners up 4-0.
The Roadrunners posted 27 shots including 18 on goal in the game while the Beavers posted three shots and two on goal. Ramapo tallied all nine corner kicks in the game while
Gabby Matias posted one save in the first 45 minutes of action in the shutout.
Madison Miskovitz, who started the second half, also collected one save in 33 minutes of action while
Abigail Whritenour did not face a shot in the final 11 minutes on the field.
Ramapo returns to action when they travel to The College of New Jersey on Saturday morning with an 11am kickoff in NJAC action.
