Ewing, NJ: The College of New Jersey women's soccer team earned a 7-0 win today at Lions Stadium as they moved to 5-4-4 overall and 2-1-1 in the NJAC while the Ramapo College Roadrunner now stand at 5-5-1 overall and 1-3 in the league.
The Lions scored early and often in the game as they got on the board in the first 42 seconds of the game with a goal from Alyssa Alfano, her fifth of the year. Taylor Bielan earned the assist in the eventual game-winner for TCNJ. Lexi Caruso and Isabella Charles each added a goal to extend the lead in the first half, 3-0. In the second half TCNJ recorded four goals for a 7-0 score. Maggie Murphy (50:29), Alfano (52:00), Jenny Ward (74:31) and Samantha Rizzi (88:12) each hit the back of the net for the Lions in the second half. TCNJ out shot Ramapo 24-6 in the game including 14-3 on goal while Ramapo held a 5-2 advantage in corner kicks.
Gabby Matias posted seven saves in goal for the Roadrunners in the game while Ellen Williams tallied three for TCNJ.
The Roadrunners return to action on Wednesday when they host New Jersey City University in NJAC action at 7:00 PM.
