New Paltz, NY: The Ramapo College women's swimming team defeated New Paltz today on the road, 152-97. The Roadrunners move to 4-3 overall while the Hawks now stand at 0-3 on the year.
Alazne Sudupe highlighted the Roadrunners in today's meet with three individual wins while she helped the team to a win in the 200 free relay. In the 1,000 free Sudupe posted a time of 11:43.74 while
Grace Korey finished second in 12:03.15. Sudupe won the 200 fly in 2:22.39 while her third individual win came in the 500 free, posting a time of 5:46.14. In the 200 free,
Valeria Pages and Korey went back-to-back as Pages posted a winning time of 2:11.42 and Korey clocked in at 2:13.47.
Isabella Hanson won the 100 back (1:05.63) while
Camila Mercado won the 100 breaststroke in 1:13.77.
Sovy Taylor won the 50 free as she touched the wall in 26.45 seconds while she also won the 100 free in 58.76 seconds.
Cami Yovich placed second in 59.39 seconds. Hanson also won the 200 backstroke (2:21.16) and
Mairin Huston placed third with a time of 2:30.85. Korey won the 200 breaststroke with a time of 2:44.60 while Taylor won the 100 fly in 1:04.48. The 200 free relay team teamed up for a winning time of 1:50.86, Hanson, Sudupe, Korey and Pages made up the team.
The Roadrunners return to action when they host Widener University and Cedar Crest College on Saturday, Jan. 25th at 2:00 pm. The team will also honor their senior class prior to the meet.
