Mahwah, NJ: The Drew University women's soccer team outlasted Ramapo College in a non-conference 4-2 win tonight at the Athletic Center Turf Field. The Rangers even their record to 2-2-2 overall while the Roadrunners now stand at 2-3-1 overall.
The Roadrunners struck first in the 16th minute (15:39) when
Amanda Barr tallied her second goal of the season for a 1-0 score. In the 25th minute (24:56) Maeve O'Murchu put a goal into the back of the net to tie the game before Rebecca Racine put in Drew's second goal (28:44) for a 2-1 lead. In the 38th minute, Ella Reyngoudt gave the Rangers a 3-1 lead with her first goal of the season off a pass from Megan Jozak. In the second half, Alexa Krause tallied her second goal of the season, unassisted to push the Drew lead to 4-1. In the 72nd minute, Barr cut the Drew lead to two with Ramapo's second goal of the game as
Abby Lee assisted, 4-2.
Ramapo recorded six shots on goal to Drew's 15 while the Rangers held a 5-3 edge in corner kicks in the game.
Gabby Matias posted ten saves in the game for the Roadrunners while Sarah Crawley collected one save in the first half and Dani Iannelli posted three in the second half.
The Roadrunners return to action on Saturday afternoon when they travel to Union College (NY) for a non-conference game at 12pm.
