Mahwah, NJ: The Rutgers-Newark University men's soccer team defeated Ramapo College tonight in NJAC action, 2-1. The Scarlet Raiders move to 8-6-4 overall and 3-2-4 in the league and earn the #5 seed in the upcoming NJAC Tournament.

Edgar Silva scored in the 32nd minute (31:55) to put Rutgers-Newark on the board in the first half, 1-0. The Roadrunners would tie the game as
Gianfranco Ponce scored his team leading 10th goal (36:33) of the season off a pass from
Jalal Khalifeh. Late in the second half, Erick Cortes posted his 11th goal of the season in the 84th (83:11) to take a 2-1 lead. Ramapo tallied ten shots in the second half including 17 for the game (six on goal) while they posted seven corner kicks. The Scarlet Raiders tallied nine shots on goal and six corner kicks in the game.
